Iconic Australian trailer manufacturer and COGITA Epicor ERP client, Drake Trailers, in collaboration with Gavin Transport teamed up recently to show their support to the McGrath Foundation, supporting women with breast cancer. A McGrath branded pink Western Star truck and Drake low loader trailer made its way across Australia, from Brisbane to Perth, raising in excess of $300,000. “Drake has done a wonderful thing supporting this initiative to raise money for the McGrath foundation” says COGITA Account Manager, Linda Mandin. COGITA supports its client’s activities particularly for such a good cause. Loaded on to the trailer was a Western Star prime mover which was up for auction.  The truck started its journey from Drake Trailers in Brisbane on the 15th March 2010 following an official event that included Queensland Minister Hon Annastacia Palaszczuk, local council member Councilor Angela Owen Taylor, local press, personalities and many suppliers and customers. The pink truck continued its journey to Perth, going via regional centres and stopping at the Melbourne Truck show, Adelaide and Kalgoorlie. As part of fundraising, Western Star Trucks commissioned artist Donna Gibb to paint the journey of the truck. The painting started in Brisbane. It was added to at the Melbourne Truck Show and at the final showing in Perth. Prints of the artwork were sold with monies from sales also going to the McGrath Foundation.
The Pink Trailer journey finished on the 26th March 2010 just in time for a Black Tie Dinner Function and fundraiser at the WACA! The tour might be finished but the money raised will help the McGrath Foundation to continue their fabulous work with women with breast cancer.
