Drake Trailers located in Wacol, Queensland, Australia, recently chose Epicor ERP software and COGITA’s implementation team to address the limitations of their production scheduling, and to provide visibility and control across all company processes.
Drake is a MTO manufacturer of an innovative range of widening and fixed width trailers for heavy haulage and mine site equipment transport. Part of Drake Trailers interesting range includes extendable and widening lowloaders. These units can operate at standard width and length when empty, but are extended to carry large oversize loads such as mining and earthmoving equipment
The Drake Steerable Platform Trailers were first produced in Australia in 1980. These include all the necessary functions including hydraulic steering, gooseneck and draw bar and the ability to widen. The range now includes fully modular steerable systems in both fixed width and widening configurations.
Drake Trailers have been building 'Mine Site' trailers since the early '70's and over the past 10 years have designed and built a new generation of 'Mine Site' transporters, capable of loads of up to 400t over rough terrain (these are the 'bullet-proof' variety). These mammoths have a tare weight of 100t approximately and are totally manufactured at Drake’s Wacol factory. The Drake range of Deck Widening and Full Widening hydraulic trailers has improved transport and safe loading of earthmoving equipment to such an extent that they are now the industry standard. Drake Trailers has an ongoing commitment to new and improved quality products and actively seek to use and develop the latest technology in the transport industry.
Companies such as McAleese Transport, James Contract Supplies, Boom Logistics, Doolan's Heavy Haulage, Peter Tippet Heavy Haulage, North Queensland Heavy Haulage, BHP Bilitton and Emeco International use Drake Trailers; most still operating after 25 years or more. Drake Trailers are expecting excellent results from the wide selected of Epicor functionality including Portal, Information Worker and VBI. COGITA Digital Media Archives 2008. All rights reserved. |
