Dental devices manufacturer Triodent has purchased the Epicor ERP system from COGITA in New Zealand. The new ERP software will support Triodent’s explosive international sales growth.
Like their medical devices counterparts, dental devices companies have special compliance requirements which are supported by the Epicor manufacturing software.
Triodent, also known as Trident, is using the Epicor ERP system to streamline fast growing, overseas, businesses. In a sense Epicor ERP is making Triodent business pain free.
In its category Triodent won the 2009 Exporter of the Year, to the U.S., American Chamber of Commerce (NZ) DHL Express Success and Innovation Award. In 2008 Triodent was the 2008 Deloitte Fast 50 winner of the titles for being New Zealand's fastest growing manufacturer -- as well as New Zealand's 10th fastest growing company with 392% growth over three years.
The award winning New Zealand-owned dental device innovator manufactures its products almost entirely in the picturesque town of Katikati, New Zealand. Triodent exports to more than 60 countries. Most of its dental products go to the United States.
In 2003 dentist, and inventor, Dr Simon McDonald started Triodent when he launched the Trident Tri-Clip followed by the Trident V-Ring in 2005. The innovative dental products range is based, mainly, on the V3 Sectional Matrix System. The key components are the V3 Ring, see below, Wave-Wedge and V3 Matrix. These ingenious dental devices make the dentist’s job easier by creating tight contacts between teeth and reducing the finishing work.
Other key markets for Triodent include Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia. Growing markets include Japan, the Middle East and Russia. The company is also targeting South America and more Asian markets.
If awards are anything to go by, Triodent is one of New Zealand's most successful companies — remarkable for a business celebrating its 7th birthday. In 2007 and 2008 the company was named one of the country's top 10 fastest-growing companies.
And in 2008 with 392% growth over three years Triodent was named New Zealand’s fastest growing manufacturer and 10th fastest growing company. In September 2009 Triodent won the AmCham Exporter of the Year award in the $500k to $5million category and was winner of the Best use of Research and Development at the New Zealand International Business Awards, sponsored by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, a government economic development agency. The Epicor enterprise resource planning ERP system is critical to effective management of Trident's spectacular growth, customer service and innovation.
