Epicor Service ConnectEpicor Service Connect can be one of your most efficient employees. It is always available, productive and efficient, knows your business rules and able to police them, plus able to process transactions 24 hours a day.

What we mean by that is Epicor Service Connect is the programme (module) that due to its communication ability, can communicate with Epicor 9 (and Vantage 8) and many file formats. You are able to take a simple CSV file, spreadsheet, e-mails with attachments and...

  1. Integrates from systems such as a CAD or Kardex system.
  2. Automate and validate workflow from the files being processed i.e process a incoming web order, purchase requisition, or helpdesk case.
  3. Load a GL Budget from other applications.
  4. Create an Epicor stock take from spreadsheets.
  5. Integrate to time and attendance systems.
  6. Automate the receipting of a asset to the fixed asset register e.g. when  a purchase order  line item being receipted is designated as a fixed asset, a service connect workflow can be called and the data passed (for example product, supplier, serial number, cost, location and date) to automatically add an asset to the fixed asset register.

All Service Connect workflows can be upgraded automatically when Vantage 8 or Epicor 9 versions are upgraded.

A runtime version is delivered as standard with Vantage 8 and Epicor 9 with an option to purchase development versions. With the runtime option, it is possible to install workflows developed elsewhere and some of these workflows which have general application e.g. loading a GL budget from a spreadsheet or create a stock take from a spreadsheet, are available from COGITA for both Vantage 8 and Epicor 9.

How our clients use Service Connect

Six different COGITA clients in Australia use Service Connect.

Fenner Dunlop, based in Australia, leads the way with eight different applications including a major interface to a time and attendance system. This covers 21 plants and processes and about a thousand records a day.

The upload of GL budgets from a spreadsheet either by year or with different values for each period is the most popular application having been installed at four clients. The creation of a stock take from a spreadsheet and the creation of AP invoices from a file are also used by multiple clients.

Other applications include interfaces to Kardex (automated storage and retrieval machines used in warehouses), uploads of multiple price lists simultaneously and drop shipments in Vantage 8 (there is standard functionality in Epicor 9) where creating a sales order can automatically create a purchase order and receiving the purchase order will automatically despatch the sales order.
